How's your mental diet?
I am not talking about what you eat today, but what you allow into your mind. Okay, just a quick one. What will happen to you when you eat burgers and fries all day long? You will not only gain weight, but also feel tired and less energetic. That's what happens when you let everything sit in your mind. Junk TV, news about killings, rape and the economy dropping. It sends a subliminal message into your subconscious mind conditioning it to believe that everything is bad in this world.
I decided to watch TV the other day, three soapies for that matter! That’s like 1 hour and 30 minutes of my precious time and all these soapies were inter linked. They all had almost the same story line, killings or people dying. So coming to think of it, what type of a message are they trying to convey? Let me tell you something, the media mainly focuses on destroying the good in you by giving you news, reality TV, soapies and series that makes you believe that nothing in the world is good. You hardly hear good news being advertised because they are working on conditioning your thoughts with negative things.
How often does your brain engage in unproductive, fearful, worrisome, or destructive thinking? A lot I believe? It’s because you have kept your mindset FAT with the consumption of junk TV!
Here are some techniques to clean out bad thought.
1. Spend less time on television, if you do, watch things that will inspire you to to do more.
2. Have time for yourself, our days are normally busy with work and/or school and may be gym and when you get home, you still need to cook. That leaves us drained, you can even forget about yourself and the plans you had.
3. Check your circle, having people who always complain and people with no desire to feel better, it really dis-empowering.
